About our tutors

Our tutors

All of our courses are facilitated and delivered by one or two trained and accredited tutors, most of who have a long-term health condition and have completed a self-management course as a participant then trained as a tutor. Some disease specific courses may be led by a health professional, for example our X-PERT Programme is delivered by a specialist diabetes nurse.

Tutor training

All of our tutors are trained and assessed to the same high standard and registered on a national register.

Don attended an Expert Patients Programme (EPP) course after his rheumatoid arthritis nurse suggested it during one of their sessions. She had initially suggested a telephone based self care course but the idea of a group sharing their experiences and supporting each other appealed more to Don so she suggested EPP.
